The cottages in the Aosta valley are situated in the Northwest of Italy and are accessible from France via the Mont Blanc Tunnel and from Switzerland via the St. Bernhard Tunnel. The language spoken in this area is a mix of Italian, German and French, a truly unrivalled dialect!
Winter sports cottages in the Aosta valley
Three of the highest mountaintops can be found in this region: Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and Monte Cervino (the Matterhorn). For experienced mountain climbers, these mountains are a true challenge. Should you make it to the top in good weather, youll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the area. Winter sports enthusiasts will find three skiing areas: Breuil-Cervinia is nicely located and is the highest skiing area in Italy. It always is covered in snow and has around 200 km of ski slopes. The second area is Courmayeur, a village at the foot of the Mont Blanc. It has a lively town centre with various après-ski facilities and good restaurants. And last but not least there is Monte Rosa, a peaceful area with breathtaking views. Ideal for families and beginners, which means you can get straight to the slopes from your cottage in the 'Valle dAosta'!
Green holiday homes in the Aosta valley
Valle dAosta is not only synonymous with high mountains; it also has a wild countryside, deep valleys and fantastic wooded areas. We definitely recommend Gran Paradiso National Park (on the border with Piemonte) for nature lovers. Beautiful mountain landscapes, special flora and fauna (such as mountain goats and ibexes which run free) make this area a true oasis of peace and tranquility. Your cottage in the inland of the Aosta valley is definitely suitable for those who appreciate quiet and space.
