Central Greece

Central Greece is the region located in the centre of the Greek mainland. It is one of the most mountainous regions of the country and home to the largest ski area in Greece. The inland area is relatively hot and dry, whereas the coastal climate is mild. Since this region has been inhabited for so many centuries, Central Greece has a rich history. The holiday homes in this area are mostly cosy, traditional residences decorated in authentic Greek style. Spend your days exploring the region and evenings admiring the panoramic view from the balcony of your Greek holiday home.

Hitting the slopes close to your holiday home

Mount Parnassus is a fabulous natural wonder, with babbling brooks, quiet lakes and thickly wooded slopes with spruce, birch and poplar trees. You will also find the largest ski resort in Greece here. These fantastic slopes are located only a short distance from your holiday home.

Enjoying Greek culture

Central Greece has countless historic sites to explore. The most important cultural landmark in this region is Delphi, where the Oracle of Apollo once made prophecies. Nowadays, the archaeological sites on the slopes of Mount Parnassus are included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the area surrounding the city of Levadia, situated between two tall hills on the edge of a gorge, you will also find numerous historic landmarks. In Heronia, just west of Levadia, you can admire impressive archaeological finds, including an acropolis and theatre. North of Levadia is Orhomenos, one of the oldest and richest cities in Ancient Greece. Tip: For an unforgettable experience, visit Levadia when Easter is celebrated in all its traditional grandeur. The capital of Athens, famous for its Acropolis, amongst other things, is also worth visiting as a day trip from your holiday home.

Holiday homes near beaches and the clear blue sea

The region of Central Greece also has plenty of secluded beaches, picturesque islands and countless bays, such as Galaxidi and Itea.
