Last week we spent a beautiful vacation in Villa Melany in Piedimonte Etneo. The authentic Sicilian villa is well-located, and has beautiful panoramic views towards the sea, the valleys and towards Mount Etna. All in a complete privacy from neighbours. The surroundings are very quiet and conservated from mass-tourism. On the other hand, the highway is not more than 10 minutes away, so you can easily visit the entire east-coast of the Island (Catania, Syracuse(!), Taormina...). In a 5 minute-drive you can reach different small towns with nice local restaurants (we can recommend 'CKJ' in Piedimonte, 'Ai Piedi dell' Etna' in Presa (only pizza, but great pizza), 'Torre del Gheppio'in Linguaglossa, but there are many others). We found a supermarket (Conad Linguaglossa) 4 minutes away. The villa is well-organised and tidy. It has a third bed-room with own bathroom and toilet upstairs. There is a good BBQ-place in an annexe of the villa. You can always find a place in the shade or in the sun to relax. The wifi-quality is excellent (even outside). The kids enjoyed the fantastic swimming-pool and the small playground. We really appreciated the very friendly but discrete owner, Angelo, who lives somewhere else in the village, but who can easily be contacted by whatsapp etc. for every kind of advice. Viva Sicilia, viva Piedimonte Etneo!
