Belvilla by OYO il Portico

Fantastische buitenruimte, mooi zwembad, prachtig uitzicht en een allervriendelijkste eigenaar. Echter zeer gedateerd meubilair, doorgezakte bedden en niet al te schoon.

Fantastic outdoor space, beautiful pool, beautiful views and a friendliest owner. However, very dated furniture, saggy beds and not too clean.

Het huis ligt in een dorp aan de voet van de Etna. Het is een mooie villa. Je huurt de benedenverdieping, de eigenaar woont op de eerste verdieping met een eigen ingang. De eigenaar is erg aardig. Het uitzicht vanuit de tuin is prachtig. Het is een vrij groot en deels diep, onverwarmd privé zwembad. Er zijn buiten veel stoelen en ligstoelen, 2 loungebanken en een tafeltennistafel. De meubels in het huis zijn oud. De keuken is gedateerd en versleten. Een aantal matrassen zijn oud en je voelt de veren. De 2 badkamers zijn prima. Op loopafstand zijn een bakker, een restaurant, 2 supermarkten.

The house is located in a village at the foot of the Etna. It is a beautiful villa. You rent the ground floor, the owner lives on the first floor with its own entrance. The owner is very nice. The view from the garden is beautiful. It is a fairly large and partly deep, unheated private pool. There are plenty of chairs and sun loungers, 2 lounge chairs and a table tennis table. The furniture in the house is old. The kitchen is dated and worn out. Some mattresses are old and you feel the feathers. The 2 bathrooms are fine. Within walking distance are a bakery, a restaurant, 2 supermarkets.

Il Portico is simply an amazing villa. From the spaceous pool you have an uninterrupted view of both the Etna and the sea. The house has all the luxury that one looks for in a villa, but also has a very playful ambiance. The pizza oven was great, BBQ, pool, lounge set, large dining table, ping-pong table etc.. The house is beautiful, but luckily not too dignified for larger families.  In the kitchen closets can be found some leftover vinegar, oil, saltpepper, coffee etc.. Things that the previous occupants pass on to the following guests, which creates a comfortable setting. The owners are exceptionally kind and hospitable. They gave us many good suggestions. Especially the tip that we should get some take-away Italian food at the little shop down the road (strongly recommended). In brief, we've had an amazing time. Family Goosen

Onze eerste indruk van het huisje ontgoochelde (niet zo netjes). Maar de SUPER vriendelijke eigenaars hebben heel veel goed gemaakt. Ze gaven heel veel tips en leuke eetadresjes. De omgeving is zeer mooi en pittoresk. Je zwemt met aan de ene kant de Etna en aan de andere kant de zee. De ligging was goed voor uitstapjes en op 100m vind je alles wat je nodig hebt. Op het einde van de straat woont er een vrouw die super lekkere Siciliaanse gerechten klaarmaakt. Tip Op de gevel van het huis staat 'Villa Maria', dat maakt het zoeken gemakkelijker )

Our first impression disillusioned by the cottage (not so nicely). But the SUPER friendly owners have made a lot of good. They gave a lot of tips and great nearby restaurants. The environment is very beautiful and picturesque. You swim with, on the one hand, the Etna and on the other side of the sea. The location was good for trips and at 100m you'll find everything you need. At the end of the street there lives a woman who prepares super delicious Sicilian dishes. Tip is on the facade of the house "Villa Maria", which makes the search easier)
