With more than 650 km in different pistes spread out over 12 skiing areas in both France and Switzerland, you can ski or snowboard a different route every day. At 1.5 km from AlpChalets Portes du Soleil, you will find the skiingarea of La Chapelle d'Abondance. This skiing area is ideal for beginners and families and is directly connected to the huge skiing area of Les Portes du Soleil. A stone's throw from La Chapelle (on the French side), you will find many beautiful old skiing villages such as Châtel (12 km), Les Gets (32 km), Morzine (27 km) and futuristic Avoriaz (39 km). On the Swiss side: Champéry (30 km) and Morgins (20 km). Each Alpine village has its own character. Thanks to the snow security of Les Portes du Soleil, skiing and snowboarding fun is guaranteed from beginner to experienced winter sports enthusiast. You can enjoy beautiful winter walks through the valley of the Haute Savoie or wander through the authentic villages in the vicinity of La Chapelle d'Abondance. Nearby Châtel also offers a lively après-ski.

There is also plenty to do in this beautiful area during the summer. Go mountain biking through the beautiful mountains or take a beautiful trip on horseback or on foot. Real daredevils can spend an afternoon wild water rafting. Lovers of French cuisine can also indulge themselves in Les Portes du Soleil; this is where the famous Abondance cheese is from. Just half an hour north of the residence, you will find the lake with the most water in Central Europe: Lake Geneva. The green spruces and cheerful alpine cows, which you are most likely to encounter on the way to the lake, certainly make for some nice opportunities for a picture.
