The vibrant harbour of Lemmer (approx. 11 km) is very popular with water sports enthusiasts. During the summer, the historical building and terraces at the quayside create a beautiful decor. Heerenveen (approx. 14km.) and even Leeuwarden (approx. 44km.) -European Capital of Culture in 2018- can be reached easily.
