Tolles Haus, alles da was man braucht Tolle Aussicht auf das Wasser
First thing - they had double booked. So they cancelled one of the "Villas" we had booked and we were given a bungalow further along in the park instead. That was disappointing but the lady said that she had made a mistake and we would get money back. No big deal for us......we're pretty easy going. The house and bungalow were fine......expensive for what we got......but it was herfstvakantie so we didn't have a lot of choice. There was a small fire in the microwave/oven when a baguette caught fire. Luckily we saw the fire on time and were able to get it outside quite quickly. There was a lot of smoke! However, the worrying thing was that there was no fire alarm and no smoke alarm! Very concerning. We reported it to the owner the next morning and she said she didn't know if there were smoke alarms or not. There are none!!! No damage was done thankfully but i shudder to think what could have happened. When we checked out we reported the fire so we were honest and upfront with her. She said we would get the money back "in de loop van de week". 2 weeks later she emailed to say that she was keeping 75euro from our deposit because of a hole made by fire in a curtain in the bungalow. I replied that it wasn't possible that we were responsible for the hole as nobody actually used the house much except to sleep in. No fires were lit, no cigarettes were smoked, nobody even drank coffee in that house. She didn't respond to my email and didn't take our word for it and kept the 75euro. So disappointing - especially given that we didn't make a big fuss about the lack of smoke alarms (so dangerous). I certainly would not recommend this accommodation!
