Great starting point for day trips by car, i.a. to the Hamsun Center which was built by the famous author Knut Hamsun's childhood home, to the village Tranøy with studio and café. Day trips to Lofoten can be made by car ferry from Skutvik to Svolvær (no fee, status june 2022).
