The capital of Almería is situated on the coast and has many monuments. These include the famous Alcazaba (the largest Arab building in Spain after the Alhambra), the cathedral, and the historical harbour. At night you could have dinner in one of the many restaurants along the promenade. Nature and walking enthusiasts could go to the popular mountain area of Sierra de Alhamilla, not far from the town.
