Mazorrón; well worth a visit!

Mazarrón is a touristic centre with a mining history if you travel inland, you will see the remains of the deserted mining industry. It also has a fishing tradition, still visible in the harbour and the fish market. There is plenty to see and do. There are many interesting buildings in the city, and the Bolnuevo are also well worth a visit. Erosion has created all sorts of extraordinary shapes in the white sandstone. But there is lots more to do and see in this region. Along the coast, you will find a number of Regional Parks, which you can explore by bike, on foot, or sometimes even on horseback. Visit the following parks from your cottage on the Costa Cálida ; the Parque Regional de las Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar is a wetland, where flocks of flamingos pause at the end of summer on their way to North-Africa. Part of the park is accessible you can cycle or walk across an area of dunes, pine forests and sandy beaches. Parque Regional de Calblanque is an unspoilt part of the coast and offers dunes, beaches and plateaus.
