In the western part of the Costa del Sol you will find Costa de la Luz (coast of the light), between the towns of Huelva en Cádiz. Its 250 km long coast consists of an extensive series of long golden sandy beaches and it has interesting fishing villages. The holiday homes on the Costa de la Luz are an excellent base to explore the inland, and you make a car trip along the white villages. This route runs from Ronda to Arcos de la Frontera and will lead you along the dazzling white villages. You could also visit a number of caves further inland, such as the stalactite and stalagmite caves of Las Maravillas in Aracena, and the cave of El Tajo de las Figuras (near Benalup) with its Neolithic paintings. Near Aracena, in Almonaster, you will find a mosque, older than that of Córdoba, as well as an Arabian castle. This region also has the route of inns, around Vejer de la Frontera, leading along gastronomic inns.
