Highlands

In Scotland you will enjoy a real holiday. If you like magnificent nature, tranquillity, a vibrant culture and a rich historical heritage, this country is certain to touch you. In short: Come and discover Scotland from our cottages in the Highlands!

Holiday homes in North Scotland

North Scotland includes the rugged Scottish Highlands in the North west and the more tranquil Grampian Highlands, with the cities of Aberdeen and Dundee, in the East.

Discover the Scottish Highlands from your cottage

The landscape of the Scottish Highlands is impressive. Hills, and wild, desolate mountains, magnificent views, sparkling lochs (lakes), forests and whimsical rocks on the coast, but also bays with beautiful (even white!) beaches. With a castle here and there. Such as the beautifully located castle ruin Urquhart Castle, on the shores of Loch Ness. Tip: from our holiday homes on the coast of the Scottish Highlands you can also take the scenic Coastal Trail (coastal road) by car.

From your cottage to Cairngorms National Park

Don't forget to visit Cairngorms National Park, a mountain area with heaths, forests, rivers and lakes. Ideal for sporty outdoors activities such as hiking, mountainbiking, rockclimbing or canoeing. Or even skiing in winter. The cable train, the CairnGorm Mountain Railway, offers fabulous views. And in the Highlands you can't overlook the Ben Nevis of course, the highest peak of Great Britain(1344 metres).

From watching dolphins to highland games, in the Grampian!

The Grampian Mountains too offer a beautiful landscape, with a varied coast from cliffs to sandy beaches. Near Moray Firth you can even watch the dolphins. Or drive along the castles- or the whisky road. In September the annual Breamar Gathering (highland games) are held, which are great fun to experience. In short, there is enough to do and see from your cottage in the Highlands!
