Central Slovenia / Ljubljana

Fancy visiting a beautiful city as well as admiring the impressive nature in Slovenia? Then choose a holiday home in this region. Here, you will find the Slovenian capital Ljubljana. This city is well worth a visit, but the surrounding area offers plenty to see too.

City trip to Ljubljana

Ljubljana is affectionately known as 'little Prague' or 'new Prague'. The city does indeed resemble the Czech capital. Enjoy the authentic atmosphere that pervades the city's many squares and monuments and delight in the small scale of the centre itself. It means that all the important sights are within easy reach. A definite 'must see' during a visit to Ljubljana is the Ljubljanski Grad also called the Castle of Ljubljana. The castle is almost as old as the city itself and is located on top of the hill. From the castle, you have a beautiful view over the city.
Outside Ljubljana, Iški Vintgar, a gorge with picturesque swimming pools, is also highly recommended for a visit. There are several castles to visit around Ljubljana.
This region has a great deal to offer. From an apartment in Ljubljana, you can explore the capital and make trips to the various sights in the surrounding area. But you may prefer to do it the other way around! Enjoy a beautiful holiday home in a stunning natural setting and go on a few excursions to the capital.
