The popular holiday region of Harz and the ski areas can be reached by car in around 20 minutes. Other popular destinations in the region are the Skywalk, Bodenstein Castle, a mining museum,The Wenderhütte, the source of fame, and much more. The spa towns of Bad Lauterberg, Bad Sachsa and Duderstadt are also easy to reach. In addition, it is the ideal starting point for the forest and hiking areas of Sonnenstein and Eichsfeld, which are not affected by forest dieback!
