In easternmost Moravia, bordering on Slovakia and Poland lies the Beskydy mountain range, also known as the Beskides winter sports area. The high altitude of this region (1323 m) guarantees snow, which makes this region very popular with winter sports enthusiasts.
In the winter sports area of Beskyden you will find relatively small-scale, quiet resorts that are rather suitable for the less demanding winter sports enthusiasts. The best-known winter sports resort is Pustevny, with slopes for all degrees of difficulty. It even has a popular cross-country ski route to the pilgrimage centre of Radhorst, which is well worth a visit. You will also find facilities here, including snow canons, ski school, ski hire, exchange point, restaurant, sauna, indoor swimming pool.
The winter sports area Renstat pod Radhostern enjoys international acclaim, thanks to its ski jumping competitions. Outside the competition season, this is an ideal location for a quiet stay in a natural environment, without long queues at the cable lift or ski lift.
There are also many smaller centres, such as those of Velké Karlovice, Bílá, or Kohútka.
