Winter sports chalets and holiday homes in the Sumava Mountains

The majority of our holiday homes in Sumava are located in beautiful and relatively quiet surroundings, but this also often means a bit further from the slopes. Depending on the location of your winter sports chalet or holiday home, you can spend your days at one of the ski resorts listed above or, alternatively, use the small ski lift nearby. Another option is to spend the day at the Hochficht resort in Austria (20 km of slopes, altitude of 933-1337 m). Make sure to read the accommodation description and check the map to see how far the accommodation is located from a slope or ski lift. A number of areas of Sumava are highlighted below.

Lipno-Kramolín ski resort is the perfect family winter sports area in Sumava

Get acquainted with the Lipno-Kramolín ski resort (Southern Bohemia), located near the Lipno reservoir, from the comfort of a winter sports chalet. If you are a novice skier or are on holiday with young children, the Lipno-Kramolín is the perfect destination. The well-groomed slopes are ideal for beginning and intermediate skiers (blue and red categories, total of 7.5 km) and are equipped with snow canons. There is a modern Snow Park for snowboarders (one of the largest in the Czech Republic) and an 800 m snow-cross slope. For children ages 3 and up, there is the Foxpark Kapitein Lipanka children's skiing area, the largest practice skiing area in the Czech Republic, with 3 magic carpets (conveyors), slaloms, children's carousel, music and a heated play area/nursery. There are also great tracks for cross-country skiers, including a 40-km route between Lipno Nad Vltavou and Frymburk. Looking for an activity besides snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing? From December to March Lipno Lake is frozen, transforming it into an 11 km (free) skating rink! In Lipno, both children and adults can relax at Aquaworld Lipno, a water park with a swimming pool, water rides, sauna and massage facilities. In a nutshell, you and your family can enjoy a relaxing winter sports holiday from the comfort of your own chalet or holiday home!

Skiing at Spicak-Zelezna Ruda

Spicak - Zelezna Ruda is the most popular and largest ski resort in the Sumava region and is located close to the German border. This woody, quiet ski resort (altitude of 860-1202 m) is also ideal for beginning skiers and children, although it also offers plenty of challenges for more advanced skiers. There are 11 lifts, a practice area, 12 blue and 4 red category slopes and, for daredevils, a black slope. You will also find a Snow Park here, with various double pipes, a cross-country track and the perfect opportunity to try snow tubing! The après-ski scene is a little on the quiet side, but this is not usually the reason people go on a winter sports holiday in the Czech Republic. Enjoy a winter sports holiday in Sumava from the comfort of a holiday home or chalet in the Zelezna Ruda area.

Zadov-Churánov: the ideal winter sports destination for the entire family

p>Zadov-Churánov is a well-known sports holiday destination (both summer & winter) located in the southern part of the Sumava Mountains, 15 km from Vimperk (the gateway to Sumava National Park). This area is popular with families with small children because of the gentle slopes and beginning to intermediate levels. In addition to 4.5 km of slopes, you will also find a Snow Park, snow tubing and slopes here that are suitable for beginning and intermediate skiers and with relative little difference in height, making them very popular with families and novice skiers. Zadov is a also true paradise for cross-country skiers since it offers countless and varied tracks.

In a word, there are plenty of possibilities in Sumava. So enjoy a winter sports holiday in Sumava/Bohemian Woods from the comfort of a holiday home or chalet!
