The vast Le Grand Domaine Ski Resort (Valmorel and St. Francois-Longchamps) is very varied, from steep slopes through powder snow to easy blue and red routes on the hills of the Cheval Noir.
Facilities for winter sports
This large 160 km ski resort has good facilities and the many ski lifts reduce waiting times to a minimum. For experienced skiers, there are two steep black ski runs that are only suitable for real daredevils. There are also some off-piste possibilities here. There are good possibilities for tour skiers to go on excursions lasting one or several days.

Le Grand Domaine is also known for the natural obstacles perfect for snowboarders. The possibilities are limited for cross-country skiers; there are about 20 km of ski runs. The footpaths run along the heavily wooded hills offering magnificent views. The many demands set by modern tourists are also taken into account. Valmorel is a beautiful old village with an enjoyable and pleasant atmosphere. With various shops, restaurants, discos and two cinemas, Valmorel is a lively and well-equipped winter sports resort.
