Peisey-Vallandry: authenticity and charm

Located in the heart of the Paradiski skiing area, the sunny ski resort of Peisey-Vallandry is actually made up of five traditional mountain villages: Landry (altitude of 800 m), Peisey (altitude of 1350 m), Nancroix (altitude of 1400 m), Vallandry (altitude of 1600 m) and Plan-Peisey (altitude of 1650 m). The area has a cosy village atmosphere since it is inhabited all year round, unlike many other ski resorts. This is not the place to be for a lively après ski scene, but you will find a variety of intimate bars, restaurants and shops to choose from in the villages. Nighttime torch-lit tours are also organised in Peisey. Experience a typical mountain village atmosphere while staying in a comfortable traditional style ski chalet in the picturesque village of Peisey!

Paradiski skiing area

If you stay in Peisey-Vallandry, you can easily access the enormous skiing area of Paradiski (altitude of 3250-1200 m), with 425 km of slopes, 2 glaciers, 5 snow parks and countless other possibilities for fun for the entire family.

Winter sports holiday in Peisey-Vallandry

If you are looking for simplicity and a more small-scale holiday destination, there are also numerous smaller ski resorts in the area (with lower lift pass prices!) to choose from. One good option is the ‘larger area’ of Peisey-Vallandry-Les Arcs (altitude of 1563-3226 m), with 52 ski lifts, 180 km of descents and 160 slopes. Or you can limit yourself to the Peisey-Vallandry skiing area, with 9 lifts, 37 km of varied slopes (2 black, 9 red, 13 blue and 1 green category) with excellent quality snow and in lovely wooded surroundings. For children there is a day care centre, kid’s club, baby lift and special sledding area (Vallandry). There are also two special bunny slopes for beginning skiers and children. Non-downhill skiers can take advantage of the ‘Nordic skiing area’ of Pont Baudin, with access to 44 km of cross-country tracks and a biathlon option. There is a snow park and boardercross for snowboarders and freestylers and an ice cave, ‘water slide’ and the possibility to ice-climb up a frozen waterfall and even try paragliding. You can also explore the magical winter landscape by going on a snowshoe trek, winter walk or horse-sleigh tour. Whatever activity you choose, you can be sure of a fantastic (family) winter sports holiday to remember in Peisey-Vallandry.
