The Bardonechia Ski Resort is divided into three sectors: Jaffreau, Colomion and Melezet and offers a total of 110 km of ski runs for all levels but mainly for advanced skiers. The ski centres are within quick and easy reach from your chalet in the Bardonechia Resort with the free shuttle buses. A few nice cross-country runs also pass through the valley.
The original mountain village has expanded into a lively winter sports resort. Although it is a little quieter in the week, weekends are lively and very busy with the many tourists who come for a weekends skiing from Turin (95 km). Bardonecchia is where the Olympic Snowboard Championships were held in 2006. The Melezet Ski Complex is used for this. The Italian city has a vast ski resort with a lot of space for slopes and cross-country skiing. The ski complex used for this has two runs. The competitions took place in the form of a giant slalom and a halfpipe. The course for the halfpipe has even been laid for the Winter Games. The Olympic halfpipe is accessible to the public since March 2006 after the Olympic Games.
