There is a lot to see for culture lovers, but you can also enjoy shopping and eating out. Moreover, there is such a relaxed atmosphere! Stroll along the Ramblas, walk through the narrow old streets of the Barrio Gótico district, take a look at the harbour, and visit one of the many Tapas bars. Instead of a hotel you can also experience Barcelona from a holiday home, you have more space than in a hotel room, and you can prepare your own meal in the evening. Interested in architecture? Interesting buildings can be found in Barcelona, in various styles, from gothic to modern. Don't miss Gaudí's famous buildings, such as the cathedral Sagrada Família and the houses Casa Milà (La Pedrera) and Casa Batlló, as well as a visit to Park Güell, which is highly recommended. Take a look from the Montjuïc hill. Here you will find some important museums, such as the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. It is also nice to visit El Poble Espanyol (the Spanish village). An open-air museum, where the different architectural styles of Spain have been reconstructed. On Saturday evenings, you can also go here for a vibrant night out! You will find a restaurant with a Flamenco show and several popular discotheques here. From Barceloneta, you can also reach Montjuïc by cable car. Tip: explore the city by bike and explore all corners of this impressive city. Then you can relax on the terrace of your own holiday home or flat on the Costa de Barcelona.
The Costa de Barcelona lies between Blanes and Barcelona. This coast is characterized by alternating long sandy beaches and smaller beaches, with cosy boulevards and nice tourist towns, like Arenys de Mar, and the touristic Calella. Of course, the costa also offers various options for relaxation, like discotheques, restaurants, terraces, shops, markets, and various (water) sports facilities. In the hinterland, you will find hills and vineyards, and Alella is an important wine town in this region. The region is diverse, and the holiday homes on the Costa de Barcelona are ideal for a varied holiday.
The perhaps less famous Costa Garraf starts just below Barcelona and ends a bit above Tarragona. This costa also offers nice spots with beautiful beaches. The most famous town is Sitges, a former fishing village, a really nice place to be. Not too touristy, and very cosy. This fashionable seaside resort offers both liveliness on the promenade, and two museums that are worth a visit.
There is also plenty to do in the line of sports during your holiday on the Costa de Barcelona. Of course, there are many water sports, but from your holiday home on the Costa de Barcelona, you can also create an exciting mountain bike route. Or enjoy a hike over the Spanish mountains. To recover in the afternoon from an active morning, you can go to the beach to soak up the sun. The holiday homes on Costa de Barcelona are often located by the sea, and are an ideal starting point for a wonderful beach holiday.
