You can take individual or guided walks in the Provincial Nature Park Zwin, a nature reserve on the border between the Netherlands and Flanders, near Knokke-Heist. Het Zwin is a unique biotope, with mud flats and salt marshes and a rich diversity of plants and birds. The Butterfly Garden near Knokke is also very nice to visit with children.But there are also more nature reserves, such as De Zwinduinen and polders, De Haan's dune forests and De Panne's dunes and forests. Also visit the Nature Education Centre De Nachtegaal in De Panne. At this visitor centre, there is a nature garden and children's route where you can get acquainted with various dune biotopes. It is also the starting point for a visit to the Duinen en Bossen van de Panne nature reserve.
