The capital Bern is also located in this region. Bern is a lively and versatile city. The city centre has a medieval character, and has beautiful squares, such as the Zytglogge, where it is always pleasantly busy.

The city of Interlaken, as its name suggests, is located between two lakes, and at the foot of the mountains. It is a modern fashionable city with a lovely centre where you can enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many authentic Swiss restaurants. Also a starting point for a hike in the mountains.
