North Sea coast, Germany

The German North Sea coast is an interesting region to visit. You can enjoy a beautiful view over the sea from our holiday homes on the North Sea coast. The North Sea Coast region includes all coastal regions along the North Sea, including Dutch regions such as East Friesland, North Friesland, and the East and North Frisian Islands.

Explore the North Sea coast region from one of our holiday homes

From your holiday home on the North Sea coast, pay a visit to East Friesland, a peninsula bordering the Netherlands, situated between Dollart and Jadebusen. Enjoy the almost Dutch-looking landscape with meadows, cows, windmills, dikes and lighthouses. Walk over hills, past moors and heathlands, mounds, forests and rivers, and then relax in your own holiday home by the sea. If you prefer to explore the German interior, you can visit cities such as Emden with its Nannen-Kunsthalle, Oldenburg with its Schloss and Lamberti Kirche, or Bremen, an old port city with an historic centre.

Visit the Wadden area from your holiday home

Holiday homes on the North Sea coast are perfect for an adventurous holiday, as there is plenty to discover. The Frisian Islands lie off the East Frisian North Sea coast. These islands are part of the Niedersächsisches Wattenmeer National Park, a protected nature reserve. With over 2,400 kilometres, this nature reserve stretches all the way to the southern North Sea coast of Cuxhaven. You will find mudflats, dunes, peat bogs, woods, heathland and salt landscapes. The seven Frisian Islands are very popular with tourists with their beautiful sandy beaches, dune areas and nature. From many towns along the coast you can go on a boat trip to one of the Frisian Islands, or opt for a bit more action with one of many mudflat excursions.

Discover the beaches of the North Sea coast

There is plenty to do from our holiday homes on the North Sea coast near Cuxhaven, in the western part of the North Sea. The spa town of Cuxhaven is the largest seaside resort on the North Sea coast in Germany. From here you can go on a mudflat walk, enjoy the beautiful nature in peace and quiet during a trip by wadwagen (horse and cart), or go on a mini-cruise to spot seals. You will also find various wellness centres and spas during your holiday on the North Sea coast. The spa town of Büsum, for example, is a popular, traditional spa town. Find relaxation from your holiday home on the North Sea coast, and relax during a day of massages, saunas and facials.

Enjoy nature from our holiday homes on the North Sea coast

Off the coast at St. Peter-Ording, lies the National Park Schleswig-Holsteinisches Wattenmeer, an exceptional nature reserve. St. Peter-Ording itself, is also called the largest sandpit in the world, with a sandy beach of 12 kilometres. During your holiday on the North Sea coast you can visit the information centre in this city, where you will learn more about the fascinating world of the Frisian islands. Take a trip to the largest and most northerly island, Sylt. This is a beautiful nature reserve with white sandy beaches, steep coastlines and thatched roof houses. Or visit Helgoland which is known for its red rocks. After all these trips, if you have any time left, take a trip to the historic towns of Lübeck or Schleswig during your holiday on the North Sea coast. It is an absolute must!
