Winter charm in Mayrhofen!

Mayrhofen (630 m) is a lively winter sports resort in Zillertal Valley and is popular among young people. Here you will find a fantastic combination of Austrian hospitality, excellent slopes and a varied range of restaurants, pubs, discos and shops. Après-ski lovers will find the nightlife they crave, as well as lively crowds both in the village and on the mountain! There is plenty to do here apart from skiing, including shopping, going to the cinema, skating and curling on the skating rink, skittles, squash, climbing in the climbing hall, and relaxing in the 'Erlebnisbad' (indoor pool and sauna) or the Fitness & Wellness Centre. You can also enjoy such activities as a horse-sleigh ride, paragliding, snowshoe trekking, Ski-Doo, snow tubing and ice climbing. There is a 2.5 km-long natural toboggan run in Gasthof Wiesehof and, at the Tristenbachalm in Ginzling, you will find a 2.3 km-long illuminated toboggan run. There’s never a reason to be bored in Mayrhofen! So rent a holiday home, apartment or ski chalet in Mayrhofen!

Mayrhofner Bergbahnen skiing area (630-2500 m)

Rent a holiday home or chalet in Mayrhofen and explore all the possibilities! Mayrhofen is part of the Ski Zillertal 3000 skiing region, but also has its own skiing region on the Ahorn and Penken mountains. The Mayrhofen ski pass gives you access to a snow-sure area with 159 km of slopes and 57 lifts. The Penken ski resort (on Rastkogel mountain), is also known as Action Mountain. Here you will find a varied skiing area that connects to the Eggalm. The only drawback is that there is no descent into Mayrhofen. For daredevils there is the Harakiri slope, the steepest and most challenging slope in the Zillertal region, with a 78% incline! Snowboarders and freestylers can live it up in the professional Vans Penken Park, one of the top snow parks in all of Europe and including kickers, boxes, rails, a half-pipe, kids' park and chairlift. The smaller ski resort of Ahorn is often referred to as Leisure Mountain. At an altitude of 2000 m, the mountain boasts a White Lounge igloo village/chill-out area, breathtaking panorama winter hiking trail and sunny, wide slopes for beginners and children. Kids can also spend the day at Wuppy’s Kinderland and day-care centre in Mayrhofen or join the ski/snowboard school. A babysitting service is also available. Cross-country skiers will find a variety of tracks around Mayrhofen and Hippach. Experience a memorable winter sports holiday while staying in a holiday home or ski chalet in Mayrhofen!
